About Belanger Youth Athletic Facility
Belanger Youth Athletic Facility is a playground and athletic complex managed by the City of Pittsfield. The facility is perfect for a short day of outdoor recreation in the Berkshires. Upon arrival at the parking lot, visitors will find a .3 mile long walking/running track. This pathway circumnavigates the park, providing an excellent space for a low-impact workout.
Within the walking track, visitors will see a youth soccer field and a baseball field. These fields are ideal for both competitive team play and individual practice on warm summer days in Western Massachusetts. There are also stadium lights, which allow games to continue into the evenings.
Visitors will find bathroom facilities and a little free library closer to the parking lot. There is also a wood-chipped playground, great for young kids of all ages.
A parking area is off Newell Street, just before it intersects with East Street. The small parking lot is accessible at an entrance across from Lombard Street.

The parking area at Belanger Youth Athletic Facility is a large, hard-packed gravel lot. The lot contains one accessible parking space. From the parking area, there are two entrances, one of which leads to the walking track and the other leads to the playground. The entrance to the playground from the parking lot is the only path of access to it, as from the walking track, visitors would have to contend with the 1-inch lip. The surface material of the playground is woodchips, and the playground equipment isn’t specifically designed to be ADA accessible. The entrance to the walking track is 4 feet wide, and there is a 1-foot path of grass visitors will have to contend with when accessing the track. The track is hard-packed rubber and is 9 feet wide and accommodates wheelchairs, strollers, and other adaptive equipment. The walking path is also .3 miles long. There is no direct path access to any of the playing fields, and visitors will have to walk across the grass to access them. The bathroom is accessible, featuring an accessible stall and other amenities, although there is no direct path to it.
