About Garnett Hill Trail - Curtin Road
Peru State Forest offers multiple hiking destinations along the old Garnett Hill Road. From the intersection with Curtin Road, hikers can traverse up the old road until they get to their first option of accessing the site of a military plane crash in 1942. A memorial is at the site commemorating those who lost their lives. If you continue up the road, you will reach a trail to the summit of Garnet Hill. The summit offers views to the west, where you can see the hills of Lenox and Richmond. Curtin Road is a rough road, so four-wheel drive is encouraged.
