Walk & Talk: State of the Hemlocks

Join Mary Hannah Parkman of the Williamstown Hemlock Monitoring Group and WRL naturalist Dana Williams for introduction to the Eastern Hemlock. We’ll cover the importance of Eastern Hemlocks to the forest, their historical significance to humans, threats to their populations, their status in Massachusetts, and the importance of community science. The talk will start out at the picnic area at Mt. Hope Park, where seating is available, and then continue with an optional stroll through the hemlocks nearby.
